Time for the next former employee feature where we highlight one of our fine cousins (what we call our employees) who has left us and moved on to a new place in their working life.

Name: Cole Ridley

Iron Horse Brewery: Position at Iron Horse Brewery?
Cole Ridley: I was a line cook at IHB.
IHB: And the official Iron Horse Brewery Food Network host. You were on the path to be the next Gordon Ramsay or the next candidate for Nailed It!

IHB: What years did you work at IHB?
CR: I worked at IHB from 2018-2019.
IHB: It feels like forever and like no time at all.

IHB: What is your favorite IHB beer?
CR: My favorite IHB beer was Life Behind Bars #FreeLifeBehindBars.
IHB: Yeah… that one doesn’t have much life left to it and probably won’t be coming back.

IHB: Where do you work now?
CR: I now work for Postdoc Brewing Company.
IHB: There’s no other way to say it – it hurts. But at least it’s for a brewery that acknowledges the hard work it takes to complete PhDs.

IHB: What do you do at Postdoc Brewing Company?
CR: I will start as a Cellarman for Postdoc.
IHB: Ok, so it was a growth opportunity. You’re making us feel better about it now. We hope they also let you wear activeware and sweat all in the name of promoting beer.

IHB: How do you think your life will improve after leaving IHB?
CR: I won’t have a benefit as awesome as an IHB beer card so my summer bod will improve (I hope).
IHB: So you might actually take up running track then?

IHB: Is there one thing that working at Iron Horse Brewery helped you to get where you are now? Conversely, how did we ruin things for you?
CR: IHB taught me a lot about the industry I am passionate about. I learned great behind the scenes knowledge.
IHB: And you taught us that we are nowhere close to being as big a soccer fan as you are … and probably some other things too, but we’re going to contain our emotions.

IHB: What is your favorite mythical creature?
CR: My favorite mythical creature is a bleagle.
IHB: A blinged out eagle that flies and eats golden mice would be a sight to see. Yes, we had to look it up on Urban Dictionary because you’re way cooler than we are.

IHB: What is your most memorable moment at IHB?
CR: My most memorable moment at IHB would be the night we shut down the bars in Eburg after St. Paddy’s Day #JaredSipsHisShots
IHB: Jared likes to make his social outings last as long as possible because he doesn’t get out much.

IHB: On a scale of 1 to 10.3 how much do you miss IHB?
CR: I’d say I’ll miss IHB as much as a dark smooth ale (7.8).
IHB: Cheers to that! We hope many dark beers are in your future.
